Chess table and black and white chess board in beech and elm wood, hand inlaid. It features an adjustable top revealing a games board for playing Backgammon, complete with built-in mat.
The originality of this table lies in its integrated Backgammon set with matching mat, a multi-purpose feature that appeals to a great many players.
The chess pieces are generously sized, combining wood and solid brass. They have been hand carved and polished in a revisited and modernised Staunton style, with black and white chess figures. They are adorned with 24-carat gold and silver plating.
The finish and quality of this product are impeccable. Handcrafted by an Italian artisan, the choice of materials and attention to detail make this chess table an excellent model with very good value for money.

I'm not a big fan of buying this kind of product online, I like to see it before buying. But honestly nowadays it's become almost impossible to find a nice traditional chess set in shops. So I ordered a wooden model online and I'm really pleased with my purchase. The set is very pretty, the pieces are beautiful and it looks great in the living room. We play regularly with my husband and the rest of the time it's almost like decoration. The only small complaint I could make is that there isn't a huge choice of storage boxes when you have pieces that aren't Staunton. Otherwise nothing to say, very satisfied.

On joue régulièrement avec mon mari et le reste du temps il sert presque de décoration. Le seul petit reproche que je pourrais faire, c’est qu’il n’y a pas énormément de choix pour les coffrets de rangement quand on a des pièces qui ne sont pas des Staunton. Sinon rien à redire, très satisfaite.

I ordered a complete chess set and unfortunately the black king arrived broken, despite the parcel being very well packaged. I sent an email to customer service with a photo of the broken piece. They replied quickly and sent me a new king free of charge. The new piece arrived a few days later, very well protected and this time no issues at all. It can happen that a piece breaks during transport, even when well packaged. What matters most is the seller's reaction when there's a problem. And honestly, nothing to fault, it was simple and quick. Very satisfied with the after-sales service from Le Palais des Échecs.
