Entirely handmade by an Italian craftsman specialising in chess set making, it boasts a range of fine finishes. It measures 47 x 47 x 7 cm with 3.7 cm squares, and pairs perfectly with chess pieces with a base diameter of 2 to 2.7 cm.
Its fully felt-lined storage drawer allows you to store your chess pieces without damaging them. The metal handle adds a lovely visual touch to this chess board and makes it easy to access the pieces.
The black and white marble playing surface is magnificent and creates a beautiful contrast with the black wooden chess board.

I'm not a big fan of buying this kind of product online, I like to see it before buying. But honestly nowadays it's become almost impossible to find a nice traditional chess set in shops. So I ordered a wooden model online and I'm really pleased with my purchase. The set is very pretty, the pieces are beautiful and it looks great in the living room. We play regularly with my husband and the rest of the time it's almost like decoration. The only small complaint I could make is that there isn't a huge choice of storage boxes when you have pieces that aren't Staunton. Otherwise nothing to say, very satisfied.

They replied quickly and sent me a new king free of charge. The new piece arrived a few days later, very well protected and this time no issues at all. It can happen that a piece breaks during transport, even when well packaged. What matters most is the seller's reaction when there's a problem. And honestly, nothing to fault, it was simple and quick. Very satisfied with the after-sales service from Le Palais des Échecs.
