A 55 × 55 cm chess board in maple and Cassia siamea, chosen and signed by Judit Polgar. It is sold without pieces: DGT intends it for the Polgar Deluxe set.
For this range, DGT entrusted the choice of materials to Judit Polgar, one of the greatest players in the history of chess. She selected this board and signed it. DGT presents it as a collector's piece: a board to play on at home, but also an object to be kept.
The board combines two woods, maple and Cassia siamea, which give the chequered pattern its contrast. It measures 55 cm per side and its squares are 5.5 cm, according to the range's technical specifications. It contains no electronics: this is a classic wooden chess board, from DGT's non-electronic range.
The chess board is sold on its own. DGT designed it for use with the Judit Polgar Deluxe pieces, also selected by the player and sold on another page of the shop:

A beautiful chess set rests on a simple balance: pieces well proportioned to the size of the squares. To choose a harmonious board, the most reliable guide is the diameter of the king's base.

I'm not a big fan of buying this kind of product online, I like to see it before buying. But honestly nowadays it's become almost impossible to find a nice traditional chess set in shops. So I ordered a wooden model online and I'm really pleased with my purchase. The set is very pretty, the pieces are beautiful and it looks great in the living room. We play regularly with my husband and the rest of the time it's almost like decoration. The only small complaint I could make is that there isn't a huge choice of storage boxes when you have pieces that aren't Staunton. Otherwise nothing to say, very satisfied.

They replied quickly and sent me a new king free of charge. The new piece arrived a few days later, very well protected and this time no issues at all. It can happen that a piece breaks during transport, even when well packaged. What matters most is the seller's reaction when there's a problem.
