The base of the chess pieces is made from black and white lacquered wood, with their heights in gold and silver-plated brass. They have a king height of 9 cm. A great deal of work went into crafting these chess pieces, which are also extremely well weighted.

They come with a black chess board on a wooden stand with a Carrara marble playing surface. It includes a felt-lined storage drawer to hold the entire set of chess pieces.
