The chess pieces in this set are crafted from quality ebony wood. They have been hand-carved and hand-polished. In the classic Staunton style, they have a more elongated, columnar appearance, particularly noticeable on the bishop. Each chess piece is well balanced, weighted and polished for a flawless finish, without the use of artificial or synthetic waxes or lacquers.

The large chess board accompanying the pieces is made from rosewood and maple, with a matt surface. The rich tones of the walnut perfectly complement the ebony wood chess pieces.
