A collector’s chess set, created by expert artists from the art schools of Ortisei and Selva Gardena.

Hand-carved with bevelled chisels, carving knives and mallets, wielded by sensitive and careful hands to give shape and life to the wood.
Wood from the Alpine forests is best suited to carving. The raw wood is cut, sawn into planks and then reduced to small blocks, matching the dimensions of the sculpture to be made.

The expert craftsman uses a pantograph to shape the wooden blocks into rough sculptures. These are then worked by hand down to the smallest detail.

The final stage of a wood sculpture is decoration.
The sculptures are entirely hand oil-painted, with patience and meticulous care.
The colours used vary from sculpture to sculpture: each one is unique.
